Celebrate National Grandparent’s Day with Seniors Strutting the Catwalk to Support a Local Charity

The Grandparent Fashion Show Benefit Event Supports Seniors in Service,
Saturday, September 6th

TAMPA, FL – Do you call your grandparents enough to tell them how much you appreciate their love and support? Or perhaps your grandparents have passed and you are left with beloved memories.

Grandparents are the staple in many families and societies and are often underappreciated for their role. There is a day in the year, however, where grandparents receive their overdue recognition. It’s National Grandparents Day, which lands on Sunday, September 7 this year.

There is a local celebration for this observance and it is the Grandparent Fashion Show Benefit Event, put on by the Vein Center of Tampa Bay.

The event is happening from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 at the Rusty Pelican located at 2425 N. Rocky Point Blvd. in Tampa.

Through the Grandparent Fashion Show Benefit, the Vein Center of Tampa Bay will be raising much-needed funds for a local non-profit organization, Seniors in Service. This organization supports seniors in our community. The funds will be raised through a live auction, raffle and ticket sales from admission, and all dollars raised will be given directly to Seniors in Service to support their worthy cause.

Tickets for admission are $5 each and raffle tickets are $1. The live auction includes a $1,000 gift certificate to the Vein Center of Tampa Bay, a personal chef service for a dinner party of four, sports memorabilia and other unique items.

The event will include a gourmet dessert social along with senior volunteers from the charity proudly strutting their stuff on the catwalk, in addition to mentioned live auction and raffle.

Seniors in Services provides two programs for our community: The ‘Foster Grandparent’ program in which seniors are in many classrooms where they outreach to children and support them in reading and classroom skills. They are the grandparent of the classroom and offer much more than excellence in school. They offer kind-hearted support, love, and stability; something that is dwindling for some children in our own backyard. Secondly, the Senior Companion program means being a friend, listening, and spending time with seniors to help them remain independent and healthy.

To attend the Grandparent Fashion Show Benefit Event and support Seniors in Service, tickets will be available at the door or can be reserved by calling the Vein Center of Tampa Bay at (813) 282-0223. Five free raffle tickets will be given to the first 50 people to RSVP for the event.
